D&D Note (5.9.2018) ~ Trump Pulls Out of Iran Deal Sending Oil on Rally ~
The S&P 500 broke out of the recent downtrend today which is a very bullish signal. The PPI report today did not signal runaway inflation and that coupled with the jobs report from last week are all bullish signs.
Since Thursdays low the DOW is now up 1,083 points.
Yesterday Trump pulled out of the Iran Deal. From his rhetoric investors are wondering if will we get into a European sanction scuffle.
Today Oil breaks $70 to $71.16 for WTI. Will we head to $80+ like the Saudis want?
The Market rally today was broad based with Energy sector and Financial sector leading the day.
The 10YR jumped to a yield of 3.006% but markets largely shrugged off the move. Telecom sector and Utilities sector were the decliners as they are the most sensitive to rising interest rates.
The VIX falls further now at 13.61 down -7.48% today its lowest close since February 2nd.
Currently negotiations are ongoing with North Korea over the nuclear dissarmment.
Payments made by various companies to Michael Cohen are raising questions if he was selling access to the President. As the old saying goes “follow the money.”
Disney was the worse performer for D&D today despite their earnings beat last night. But now Comcast is bidding for FOX assets which has pulled DIS down -1.79% today.
Pot Stocks IMLFF led the day for D&D up 34.97% followed by APHQF up 6.32% helping the portfolio to gain 2.64% today.
