D&D Note (6.4.2018) ~ NASDAQ Hits All Time High ~

Markets gained today in a follow through from Friday’s better than expected jobs report. The North Korea Summit being called back on helped reduce geopolitical headwinds.

The NASDAQ hit an all time high today of 7606.46 with the assistance of Apple and Amazon both hitting all time highs.

Today D&D took some profits in Facebook as we believe some of the recent gains have come more from broad based ETF appreciation rather than stock specific appreciation. We also trimmed our positions in two Industrial stocks in ITW and SIEGY.

The Energy Sector was the worse performer as Oil slipped below $65. If we see some further weakness in the sector D&D will look to add to our holding of RDS.A.

The largest gainer on the day for the portfolio was Pot Stock Canopy Growth CGC rising 5.25% to close above $30 a share.

The 10-YR Yield rose back near 3% to 2.946% erasing most of the drop seen last week in yield.

Cryptocurrencies remain down to flat with Bitcoin just below the support/resistance level of $7,500.
